Letter from the VP Recruitment

Hi there! Welcome to Alpha Gamma Delta at the University of Minnesota! Whether you're just starting to explore Greek life or counting down the days until recruitment, I'm so glad you're here. Choosing to join a sorority can feel exciting, overwhelming, and maybe even a little intimidating. I know because I was in your shoes not too long ago. Walking into recruitment, I had no idea what to expect and just hoped I would find people who accepted me for who I was and a place that truly felt like home. Looking back now, joining this chapter has been one of the best decisions I've made during college. What I found in Alpha Gamma Delta was so much more than I ever expected. I found a home. When people think of sororities, they often picture social events, matching outfits, or Instagram photos. While those moments are certainly fun, they only scratch the surface of what sisterhood really means. To me, Alpha Gamma Delta is the group of women who celebrate my biggest accomplishments, remind me of my worth on the hard days, encourage me to chase opportunities I never thought I was capable of, and somehow make everyday moments feel unforgettable. One of my favorite things about our chapter is that no two members are exactly alike. We come from different hometowns, majors, backgrounds, and experiences, yet we're united by a shared desire to support one another, serve our community, and become the best versions of ourselves. We believe every woman has something unique to contribute, and that's what makes our sisterhood so special. As Vice President of Recruitment, my biggest hope is that every woman who walks through our doors feels seen, heard, and genuinely welcomed. Recruitment isn't about finding the "perfect" chapter but rather it's about finding the place where you can be unapologetically yourself. We aren't looking for perfection. We're looking for authentic conversations, genuine connections, and women who are excited to grow alongside us. As you go through recruitment, my biggest piece of advice is to trust yourself. Keep an open mind, ask questions, and don't be afraid to let your personality shine. The chapter that's right for you will appreciate you for exactly who you are. With love, you got this!
